“The Charles H. Taylor Arts Center”
This annual competition, one of the largest and most comprehensive in the state, showcases the talents of many of Virginia’s finest artists and craftsmen. This year’s juror, Teresa Annas selected 113 artworks in all styles, genres and media by 112 artists; chosen from 712 entries by 278 artists from all across Virginia.
“It was a pleasure to scan such a fabulously diverse collection of submissions by so many of the region’s finest artists, and tough to decide which pieces would get in,” said Teresa Annas. “In the end, I chose works that surprised and amused me, that made me think, that used a non-clichéd approach to a traditional subject and were full of life and fresh, personal expression.”
